Use:
Goldenrods look good planted with blue and violet asters, delphinium, salvia, scabiosa, and zinnias. Large plantings of goldenrods are very attractive against a background of dark green trees. Goldenrods are also nice added to summer bouquets.

Culture:
Goldenrods will grow in practically any soil. They'll survive in poor dry soil, but won't grow as tall as in fertile soil. Goldenrods are long-lived and they increase by sending shoots up along the outside of the clump. The clump slowly increases and they can grow several years in the same spot. The plant should be divided when the center of large clumps become sparse.
