Use:
Ribbon grass makes a good tough groundcover for wet or dry soils. It is useful in damp shady borders, bog sites and near ponds. The plant can grow in soil to 4 inches of water. This grass has invasive rhizomes which would be good for erosion control. In the border this grass would probably look best as a specimen plant rather than massed. The flowers are white and pale pink and can be used in dried arrangements.

Culture:
This plant is so adaptive and easy to grow that it can become a bully if not contained. The easiest way to contain it is to leave the grass in the pot when you plant it. Ornamental grasses can be easier to divide and repot if you use a saw.
