Use:
Penstemon have colorful snapdragon-like blossoms on flower spikes. The foliage is neat and clean and looks good all season. They are attractively displayed in groups of three. Good companions are artemisia, coreopsis, echinacea, baby's breath, catmint, yellow evening primrose, and pincushion flower.


Culture:
These plants are not usually long-lived (3 to 4 years). They grow pretty well in average soil in full sun and will not tolerate excessive fertilizer or water. Good winter drainage is important.
