Use:
Maiden pinks form neat mounds of dense foliage. It has a trailing frowth habit and spreads by creeping rhizomes, but does not become weedy. Use it on low rock walls or ledges, in small groups in front of the perennial border or the rock garden, or as a groundcover or edging.

Culture:
Pinks like good air circulation and full sun, but will grow well in light shade. Avoid poorly drained winter soils which can be fatal. Plants prefer neutral to slightly alkaline soil and will not grow well in strongly acid soil. You can induce a light second flowering in early autumn by clipping back the stems after flowering.
