Little Bolder Creek Campground (07/22/07)11/19/07

These are some pictures of our 07/22/07 trip to Little Bolder Creek Campground.

LBCK 001. Here is where we turn off of Highway 8 near Helmer onto Park Road.
LBCK 002. We are heading south on Park Road.

LBCK 005. Here is a sign telling us that we are on the correct road towards the campground.
LBCK 006. A closer shot of the sign. Notice that these signs just call the campground Little Bolder. We understand the actual name to be Little Bolder Creek.

LBCK 009. This sign says 1/4th mile to the right, but there was nowhere to turn off. I think the arrow should have been pointing up to indicate that the turn was 1/4th mile ahead. Notice the little bridge just beyond the sign.
LBCK 010. Here is a picture of Bolder Creek as we cross the little bridge.
LBCK 011. Here is a sign we saw just after entering the campground. There is a picnic area to the left and a camping area to the right. It turns out that the road goes in a big circle. We went to the right and came out by the picnic area on our way home.
BOYR 012.Here is a map of the area. Notice the road going in a circle. Also, they call it Little Bolder Creek Campground on this sign.
LBCK 013. This is the other sign by the camping area.

LBCK 016. This is a picture of the pit toilet. I shouldn’t have used the flash. Also, I don’t remember seeing anywhere to get water in this campground.

LBCK 021. This is Beth standing by the little fenced path by the creek. I’m not sure what they were trying to do with this fence. It leads you to the left and then to the right through a very narrow pathway towards the creek. I suppose it is supposed to deter animals from getting through, or something. Maybe it is supposed to slow kids down a little bit.
LBCK 022. This is where the road within the campground splits to the left from the outer circle towards the inner circle.

LBCK 030. This is looking back at the pit toilets by the entrance to the camping area. We were waking back to put money in the fee envelope after choosing our campsite. There were all kinds of little chip-monks running around on this road later when we went up to use the facility. They were gone when we went back and tried to take a picture of them.

LBCK 042. This open space was used as a logging camp in the early 1900’s. They used railroad cars for housing, etc. Apparently, there were tracks in this area.

This turned out to be a real nice place to camp for a night. It was quiet and relaxing. I don’t think very many folks use this campground.
