Use:
Knappii is an unusual dianthus with lemon yellow flowers. The flowers are carried on long stems in small clusters. This dianthus species is more of an upright plant than other dianthus and is native to the hot dry hills of Hungry and Yugoslavia. Knappii is probably best duited for the center of the perennial border. The foliage is attractive and the flowers are suitable for cutting.

Culture:
Knappii like good air circulation and full sun, but will grow well in light shade. Avoid poorly drained winter soils which can be fatal. Plants prefer sandy, neutral to slightly alkaline soil and will not grow well in strongly acid soil.
