Use:
These tall plants have pinkish-purple, blue, or white flower spikes at the end of the stems and are attractive in perennial borders or herb gardens and bloom until a hard frost. The plant is dense enough to be trimmed into a hedge. They attract hummingbirds, butterflies, honeybees, and wild birds, especially finches. The leaves can be used as a garnish and in salads, teas, and potpourris.


Culture:
THummingbird mint grows best in full sun, but will tolerate light shade. Watering may be required during drought conditions otherwise the plant will stop flowering in late summer. The plants are mints, but they do not spread by rhizomes.
