Use:
Gailardias produce flowers over a large part of the growing season. They look good singly or in groups and combine nicely with baby's breath, phlox, Shasta daisy, veronicas, and delphiniums. they make good cut flowers.

Culture:
Gailardias are easy to grow, but need good air circulation and well-drained soil. A wet, rich soil will produce sprawling plants and excessive foliage and early death. Gailardia is a relatively short lived perennial, sometimes only 2 or 3 years. They seem to bloom themselves to death and tend to die out unless dug and divided every 2 to 3 years. You can also obtain new plants by inserting a spade in a circle 6 inches from the crown during the summer. The cut root will usually produce young plants ready for transplant the following spring.
