Use:
Autumn Joy has thick, light green leaves and flowers that start out as green broccoli-like buds in mid summer, which turn into large bronze-rose flowers heads. The dead flower heads can be left on for winter interest. Autumn Joy is a classic perennial that can be used in the border, rock garden, or container. It provides good cut flowers and dried flowers.

Culture:
Autumn Joy likes a hot, sunny place, but will grow in shady areas under trees. It prefers a sandy soil, and needs at least a well-drained soil for winter survival. The plant may become floppy when planted in rich soils. Pinching in June will prevent this.
